Women's Ministry

Believing our entire lives are a work of God’s grace and mercy, The Women’s Ministry at SCC exists to equip women, of all ages and at each stage of her life, to make every effort possible to “press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me” (Philippians 3:12) Our desire is to present opportunities for women to come to know Him, love Him and serve Him through the Word of God, through prayer, through service opportunities and fellowship.

Along the way, Retreats and other Special Events are offered. These are announced at Bible study, in the Sunday program or through mailings. Call the church office to add your name to our list.

Heart to Heart Bible Studies Weekly Bible studies are offered during the Fall and Spring semesters on the church campus and monthly studies are offered during the summer months of June and July in homes. In the past we have done Beth Moore’s studies like: A Woman’s Heart ~ God’s Dwelling Place, Breaking Free, Jesus the One and Only, To Live is Christ, A Heart Like His, Believing God, When Godly People Do Ungodly Things. Henry Blackaby’s: Experiencing God, Robert McGee’s: The Search for Significance, and Brenda Blankenship’s: As It Is (on prayer) and It’s All In There (on the book of Ruth). Mary Kassian’s: Conversation Peace. A Longing for Home – on the book of Revelation.

The Word of God is paramount in teaching us how to live, how to know God intimately, and how to break free from strongholds in our lives. “Then you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free” (John 8:32) Studies are offered on Monday evenings, 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Tuesday mornings, 9:15-11:15 p.m. Childcare is provided. The cost is $20.00.

Shoulder to Shoulder – A mentoring ministry
This ministry is geared to pair older women with younger women for accountability and encouragement. This ministry is accomplished through small groups that meet during the Heart to Heart Bible Study each week. It is based on Titus 2: “Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.” Titus 2:3-5 (NASB)
